Plans To Delay Direct Flight Launch Between Dubai-Bhubaneswar
The pre-announce schedule for the launch of flights between Dubai-Bhubaneswar is confirmed to be delayed. What’s the reason though? Well, the authorities informed us that the construction of Terminal 2 at the Biju Patnaik International Airport will take a few more months to complete.
The director of sales of IndiGo Airlines(North & East India) in his statement announced that it might take around 3 to 4 months for the final launch of the Dubai-Bhubaneswar flight. Giving out this information he also mentioned the direct flights that will start between Bhubaneswar to Singapore and Bangkok. Well, seems like great news for travellers!
IndiGo informed its travelling partners on February 11 that a flight (6E 0028) from Dubai will take off at 11.25 am and land in Bhubaneswar at 5.05 pm on March 5. The reason for choosing the date was the former chief minister Biju Patnaik’s birthday. His airport has been given his name. Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) planned the first international flight (6E 0027) from Bhubaneswar to Dubai to depart at 6:05 and arrive in Dubai at 9:45 that same day.

This proves to be a major block for tourism in the state. Although we have a few flights slated to fly to international destinations, the overall score of international flights is quite low. And the question was also raised about a few domestic flights to nearby destinations from this Indian state. Hence launching direct flights between Dubai-Bhubaneswar will solve some tourism concerns of the state.
So now we wait for further announcements regarding the start date of these direct flights.
