If you are someone who lives in the Middle East, then you know that there is a really competitive market for job seekers. This is especially true for cities like Dubai and Doha, where you will find immense competition while finding new jobs. In fact, this was also recently proven true by a study conducted by Resume.io. Here’s all you need to know about this development in the job market.

According to a recent study, conducted by Resume.io, which is an online resume builder, Doha, Dubai, and San Francisco, have the most competitive job markets in the world. Yes, according to a report by Gulf News, this result was compiled by the company, which looked at 130 global cities and every US state. This was done to track how many applications were submitted for roles in the first week after they had been advertised. Not to mention, the three aforementioned cities also had the highest number of candidates for every LinkedIn job posting in the month of February 2023, according to the study. The reason that has been attributed to the dominance of this city in Qatar has been relegated to the fact that it was hosting World Cup the previous year.

San Jose & San Fransico Also Ranked High!

As it happens, the average job post in Qatar received up to 399 applicants in February as shown in the study compiled by the company. At this point, it should also be mentioned that this country has created a universal minimum wage and doesn’t tax personal income, which makes it a great place to work. Not to mention, Dubai and Abu Dhabi workers are also in a competitive job market and they don’t pay income tax as well. It should be noted that San Jose and San Francisco, both of which are Northern California of the USA, ranked high. Moreover, both these destinations have relatively high average salaries but also account for the most expensive places to live in the world.
