It’s New Year’s Eve and let’s be honest, everybody is excited about how they wish to welcome the New Year. But, one of the biggest parties famous around the world is hosted by Dubai as it welcomes the new year with spectacular fireworks around the city. So, people are naturally stepping out in large numbers. To ensure that you do not miss out on important updates related to traffic in the city for the NYE, we have made a list of them that you will want to keep in mind for today in Dubai.

Dubai NYE Updates

1. Organised Traffic Plan For Dubai

An organised traffic plan has been released for Dubai, which includes everything from the functioning of Dubai Metro to road closures and even entry and exits on certain routes. As it happens, several streets are closed near the Burj Khalifa area to ensure stress-free pedestrian movement. People have been informed about these road closures in advance so that they can avoid certain routes after 4 PM as this is when the road closures will come into effect.

2. Safety Measures For The NYE

The Dubai Event Security Community has released a set of safety measures that the public should adhere to on New Year’s Eve. They have been asked to arrive early in order to avoid any sort of traffic congestion. Additionally, they’ve been asked to stay updated about the road conditions and closures through the official channels. Not to mention, public lost and found services have also been set up on-site and are also accessible through the official website of the Dubai Police. Participants have been encouraged to register for Sale Safety Service if they wish to partake in a marine celebration.

3. Leave Early For Dubai Airport

If you are headed to the Dubai International Airport on this New Year’s Eve, the RTA has asked you to plan ahead. Yes, people have been asked to consider departing earlier for the airport as there might be traffic jams on certain roads. So, in order to avoid any potential delays, make sure to leave with ample time on hand.

4. Free Buses In Certain Areas

The Dubai RTA on its official account on X (formerly Twitter) announced that several free buses will be running on New Year’s Eve 2025 for smooth transportation. Yes, these buses will be running from the Burj Khalifa area to the Dubai metro stations and even taxi parking lots. As it happens, these free buses will also be available at the Sheikh Zayed Road and Financial Centre.

5. Using Public Transport On NYE

The Dubai RTA has urged the general public to use its public transport to commute on the NYE. This has been suggested as it will help in reducing traffic congestion across the Dubai roads and will help people celebrate their New Year’s without the stress of traffic or finding a parking space.
