Dubai Gets A New Digital Platform For Easy Bus Travel

In recent times, Dubai has introduced many new updates to its public transport system. In order to satisfy public demand for medium-sized bus services, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has entered into a contract with “arcab” to create a digital platform on a trial basis in the form of an intelligent app. Moreover, two neighbourhoods of the city will have the testing platform functioning. Let’s check out this new update coming your way.

A Digital Platform To Ease Your Bus Travel in Dubai

The deal got to accomplish in coordination with the Dubai Future Accelerators Program, one of H.H.’s projects for the city Future Foundation. In 2016, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, created a platform that brought together international corporate leaders, start-ups, and government organisations.

The deal calls for creating a highly developed and adaptable digital infrastructure for moving people quickly and securely to different locations around the city.

The first route connects Jebel Ali Free Zone and International City/Dubai Silicon Oasis. The second route will operate a shuttle service between JLT and International City. However, after a three-month trial period, the authorities will extend the service to 12 other neighbourhoods in the city.

The programme sought to start cutting-edge initiatives powered by upcoming technologies to power important industries. The programme will expand to 12 other neighbourhoods in the city after a three-month trial period. Moreover, the agreement for the digital platform is there in order to accommodate the rising demand for bus services. However, it must include information about transit schedules, expected arrival times, and more.
