Thanks to the covid-19 pandemic, 2020 has not been a great year for all us. With pay cuts, cancelled vacations and missing out on varied other opportunities, 2020 sadly has been a disappointment for us. And, if you have also been dissatisfied with this year, then let us tell you, the next year is going to be bigger and better. Why so? Well, it’s because the Dubai government has allocated around 35 per cent of its AED 57.1 Billion 2021 budget for salaries and wage allowances for entities working in the public sector. Yep, Dubai-ites you read that right! It also means that you may get a hefty salary hike in the new year. Excited, already? Here’s everything you must know.

Sheikh Mohammed Has Approved This Budget On Sunday Afternoon

Allocation of the budget has been taken by following the requirements of the new HR law to assure family and community security after the covid-19 economic crisis. And this budget was approved by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai on Sunday afternoon.

To stabilise the economy, this move will surely be quite useful to the public. For the budget, it will also be allocated in different areas such as:

For Social Development And Public Service

There’s 31 per cent for the social development sector, such as education, housing, women and children’s care, etc.

Other 26 per cent will be to meet the requirements of human and community development. These funds will also help to provide public services to the residents.

For Research, Infrastructure And Transport 

22 per cent of the budget will be utilised for security, justice and safety, whereas 41 per cent will be for infrastructure and transport sector.

Government has furthermore kept aside 6 per cent to support creativity, innovation and research. It has also allotted 1 per cent to the private sector for crisis management.

Well, with this all this allocation, we are sure that 2021 is going to be a great year for us economically.
