Dubai Parks To Be Closed For Eid Al Fitr

Dubai parks will be closed during the Eid Al Fitr holidays to prevent spread of Covid -19. The announcement comes soon after 70 parks in the city were reopened. The Dubai Municipality made the decision to prevent large gatherings.

Major parks in the city including Mushrif, Al Mamzar, Al Khor, Zabeel and Al Safa park will be closed. 70 parks in Dubai reopened on 18 May. This was part of a three-phased approach scheduled to conclude on May 25. After closing parks and other recreational activities in March, Dubai Municipality opted for a phased approach to reopen public places.

Dawoud Al Hajri, Director General of Dubai Municipality, said municipality teams disinfected 262 areas. Further, they are working to sterilize more areas in the city.

What Else?

Dubai Economy announced extended working hours of outlets post Ramadan. As per the recent circular, shops will be open from 10 am -10 pm on weekdays and until 12 am on weekends after Ramadan. Shopping malls must also adhere to curfew timings announced by the federal government.

In addition, retail outlets have now removed the no refund, no return policy, with terms and conditions. Retailers must sanitise goods and set them aside for 24 hours before they exchanged the shop. Returned items should not to be put back on the shelves or used by other customers. They must be put aside by the retailer for 24 hours.

Besides, all changing and fitting rooms will also be open, but with restrictions. Retailers must continuously sterilize the trial rooms. Offices will operate for six hours during Ramadan, and normal operating hours can resume after the holy month. However, the curfew timings will still remain in place. In addition, offices must encourage only 30% of the work force.

Pantries will also remain open but must serve food only in disposable utensils. Further, people must maintain a 2m social distance. Besides, coffee dispensing machines will also function, and must be sanitized after every use.
