The UAE has been reeling under the battering rains since the weekend. As a result, several updates took place in the country due to the unstable weather conditions. UAE Weather-Related Updates
1. Dubai RTA Cancels Road Tests
On Monday, February 12, the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority cancelled all its scheduled road tests. These were for acquiring a Dubai driving license and due to the inclement weather, the tests had to be cancelled. It also comes at the time when motorists have been advised to exercise caution as they drive through the water-logged streets.

As many streets are waterlogged, the Dubai Municipality is working tirelessly to ensure that residents in the emirate are not inconvenienced. Yes, for this they are constantly working around the clock to ensure there is proper drainage of rainwater that’s been accumulated across the emirate. While addressing public reports, the teams of the government authority are constantly draining waters that have clogged the streets as the safety of the people is the topmost priority.
3. Road Diversion On Sheikh Zayed Road Due To Flooding

In a recent update by the Dubai RTA on X, it was revealed that a road diversion has been created on Sheikh Zayed Road. This is in the Jebel Ali area, as there is water accumulation. As a result, commuters have been asked to follow the alternative routes of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and Emirates Road for heading towards Abu Dhabi. And Seih Shuaib St. towards Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road for those coming from Abu Dhabi. In fact, for this even Emirates Road is an option.

4. Remote Working Extended In Al Ain

In a recent report by the Abu Dhabi Media Office, it was mentioned that remote working has been extended till Tuesday, February 13. This update is from Al Ain, where remote work across government activities and companies has been included. However, this does not include jobs which require a workplace presence. Not to mention, remote study for all education institutions has also been extended.
5. Motorists Advised To Exercise Caution By Abu Dhabi Police

The Abu Dhabi Police have advised motorists to drive with caution. Due to the rainy weather, horizontal vision has been reduced. As a result, people have been asked to follow the changing speed limits that is displayed on the electronic information board.
