Cases in the UK are on the rise amid the new covid-19 strain, which was detected last year in November. And since then, several countries have banned flights to and from the UK. Now, UAE has also updated its travel rules for travellers travelling from the UK. Travel and testing requirements between both the countries have changed and here’s everything you need to know about it.

Travel Rules Between UAE And UK Are Now Changed 

Starting from 8 AM, January 16, all travellers arriving in Dubai from England should submit a negative PCR test before boarding the flight. A negative covid-19 test taken 96 hours before the departure will have to be present on arrival in Dubai. This rule will be y for or all passengers travelling from or through England to Dubai.

When it comes to the UAE residents to Dubai from or through England, they have an option to present a test before departure or to be tested on arrival in Dubai. Now, when it comes to England, travellers arriving in England after 4 AM on Monday, January 18 will be required to present a negative COVID-19 test result before departure.

Scotland Updates Travel Rules For Passengers 

Scotland too, has updated its travel rules for the passengers. People travelling from Dubai to Scotland will now have to quarantine for 10-days on arrival. According to the announcement, the new rules comes into play as several positive Covid-19 cases have been picked up in travellers arriving in Glasgow from Dubai since the start of the year. The announcement also states that this is a preventative measure to curb the significant rise in cases of covid-19.

UK Updates Entry Requirements For Travellers Entering From England And Scotland

Well, not only this but, on Saturday, UK also updated its entry requirements for travellers entering from England and Scotland. The new update states that anyone entering by air, land or sea will need to present a negative PCR test. The test should be conducted 72 hours before arriving in the country, and people who fail to adhere by the norms will be liable to pay AED 2,496 fine.
