Dubai’s royals don’t just cut ribbons and attend events. They love to dine out, often. And lately, people have been noticing where they’re quietly visiting a few spots, and it’s time we add them to our list too. It’s not exactly new to see Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum at big-name restaurants like Nobu, Sushisamba, or Zuma. Those places are already crowd favourites. But what’s more interesting right now is where Sheikh Hamdan, the Crown Prince of Dubai, or just Fazza, as most people call him, has been showing up, and his recent stops at this small restaurant feel different.

He’s been spotted grabbing lunch at Cipriani Dolci and La Maison Ani. Both stylish, yes. But also the kind of places people actually try to book on weekends.
Then came May 1. No big announcement. Just a simple visit.
Fazza dropped by Window, a relatively new spot tucked inside Alserkal Avenue. The restaurant later shared a photo online, nothing flashy, just the team standing with him, clearly a bit starstruck.
And that was enough. Because when he shows up somewhere like that, people pay attention.
A Small Space That’s Getting Big Attention
Window isn’t one of those massive, over-designed venues. It’s small. Around 32 seats. Walk-in only, which already tells you something.
The whole place is built around a long counter facing the kitchen. You sit, you watch, you eat. That’s it. No distractions. There’s a wood-fired oven going, a Josper grill doing its thing, and coals glowing in the background. It feels alive, but not chaotic.
The concept comes from Fyte Hospitality, the same team behind Kokoro. So they know how to build places people talk about.
The Chef People Are Starting To Recognise
Behind the food is Gonzalo Platero. Not a loud personality, but clearly someone who knows fire cooking inside out.
He’s done stints like the Fyre pop-up at Ketura Reserve and has been part of desert cookouts with Cucina Del Sul. So this style? It fits him. And it shows on the plate. Everything feels intentional, but not overthought.

Why This Actually Matters To People
For many, spotting royals at restaurants isn’t just gossip. It’s a signal that the place is worth your time.
But also, it shows a shift. Big names are still big, but smaller, independent spots like Window are getting their moment too.
