Dubai is getting ready to sweeten up Ganesh Chaturthi with plenty of modaks, from traditional Maharashtrian favourites to inventive new flavours. Across the city, sweet shops, restaurants and cafés are serving these beloved treats in varieties ranging from Ukadiche and Mawa to Biscoff, chocolate, paan and dry fruit. Here are eight places in Dubai to pick up modaks this Ganesh Chaturthi.

1. Manisha’s Kitchen

Manisha’s Kitchen serves Ukadiche Modak, a classic Maharashtrian delicacy and traditional naivedya offered to Lord Ganesha. Their handmade steamed rice dumplings are filled with brown jaggery, roasted coconut, cardamom and charoli seeds, creating a fragrant and comforting festive treat. Each modak is prepared with care and devotion, reflecting its significance during Ganesh Chaturthi. The modaks are usually available with one hour’s advance notice and are best enjoyed with pure ghee.

2. Regal Plus

The range includes Ukadi Che Modak, along with flavours such as Mango, Kesar, Pista, Paan, Biscoff, and Rasmalai. You’ll also find dry fruit, kaju, almond rose and chocolate brownie modaks, with assorted boxes and prasad packs available too. This variety brings together classic Indian flavours and richer, indulgent options, giving festive sweet cravings plenty to explore.

VEGO Cafe & Confectionery is putting a creative spin on Ganesh Chaturthi with an assortment of handcrafted modaks in flavours such as Gajar Halwa, Motichoor, Paan & Coconut, Rose Kaju Katli, Walnut Pista, Anjeer, Puran Poli and Milky Pedha. Traditionalists can opt for the classic Ukadiche Modak, made with rice flour, while the Ekvis Modak Thaal comes with 21 pieces for a festive spread. You can also pick up Modak Laddoo, Kaju Modak or an Assorted Modak box for a mix of festive flavours.
