Dubai’s Second Hindu Temple Adjacent To Jebel Ali’s Guru Nanak Darbar To Open Doors In 2022

The second Hindu temple in Dubai, adjacent to the Guru Nanak Darbar in Jebel Ali, is set to open doors during Dussehra 2022, as reported by Khaleej Times. Reportedly, around 50% of the temple construction is complete. A trustee of the Sindhi Guru Darbar Temple, Raju Shroff has told Khaleej Times, “Almost 52 per cent of the construction has been completed.” The foundation of the shrine was laid in 2020.

The Shrine Will House 11 Deities Of Hinduism

Once completed, Jebel Ali’s Hindu temple will house eleven deities of Hinduism, related to the Hindu communities of different parts of India. The temple will import the deities from India. The temple aims to make the location a multi-cultural corridor in Dubai. Speaking to Khaleej Times, Shroff said, “Piling, shoring and casting of basements one and two is complete as of now. We are on track to open during Diwali 2022.” After completion, the corridor will have the Sikh Guru Nanak Darbar, a Hindu temple and several churches.

The Temple Will Be Spread Across An Area Of 82,000 Feet

This temple will be the second of the two Hindu shrines coming up in the UAE, the other being Abu Dhabi’s BAPS Hindu Mandir. The main prayer hall of the temple will have a massive skylight that will hold splendid hanging lanterns. The facade of the temple will be in the Arabian theme and the insides will be inspired by Indian temples. The temple will be spread across an area of nearly 82,000 feet. The teaching room of the temple complex will have Geeta classes, Bharat Natyam classes and more.
