Dulquer Loves To See His Mom In Settu-Mundu Saree Every Onam

Curly Tales is back with yet another fun Sunday Brunch episode. And this time, our Chief Editor, Kamiya Jani hosted none other than India’s heartthrob Dulquer Salmaan and the super talented Shreya Dhanwanthary.

The Chup stars were anything but chup ( quiet). See what we did there! *winks* They demolished a hearty South Indian meal with such passion that they couldn’t even take their eyes off the food. So, we had quite a task getting them to participate in this interview, while their focus lay on eating.

Fortunately, we managed to get all the scoop on Dulquer and Shreya’s food and travel preferences.

Dulquer Salmaan Insists His Mother Wear Traditional Kerala Saree On Onam

In the interview with Kamiya Jani, Dulquer Salmaan revealed how he loves seeing his mom wear a settu-mundu  saree every Onam. In fact, the Sita Ramam actor quips “I make my mother wear it every year. I tell her, you have to wear it”.  While he doesn’t know to drape a saree, he insists his mother adorns the traditional Kerala saree every year. The settu-mundu is a white colour saree with a gold border. It’s worn by women in Kerala during the harvest festival of Onam.

He Loves Eating Puttu And Kadala

When it comes to his food preferences, Dulquer Salmaan grew up eating the quintessential Kerala breakfast dishPuttu with Kadala. He called it a staple dish in his household. Puttu is made of ground rice flour, layered with coconut shavings. It’s paired with kadala, a coconut-based chickpea gravy. Dulquer Salmaan also loves eating appam. At his home, he enjoys it with vegetable or lamb stew.

This Sunday Brunch episode with Dulquer Salmaan and Shreya Dhanwanthary guarantees non-stop entertainment, non-stop eating, and unending laughter. So, what are you waiting for? Watch the interview!

As Curly Tales is all about food and travel, you’d find it refreshing to see celebrities who are as passionate about food as we are. Dulquer eyeing the Podi Idlis on the table during the interview. And Shreya asking him to serve her more Payasam, mid-interview are testaments to this.
