Emirates Begin Trials Of New Covid Digital Passports That Has All Your Covid Documents

Travelling amid pandemic is quite stressful, and with so many covid-19 documents and forms in place, it’s even more difficult. And to make the travel process hassle-free while ensuring passenger safety, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) had launched a digital travel pass. The first trial of the pass was conducted with Singapore Airlines, and now Dubai’s national carrier, Emirate’s Airline, is all set to begin the trial of the IATA pass.

The First Trial Was Conducted On Dubai To Barcelona Flight

Emirates Airlines has conducted a trial on the EK185 trip from Dubai to Barcelona. The IATA Travel Pass app lets passengers manage their data regarding covid-19 results or vaccination certificates. And passengers travelling from Dubai to Barcelona trialled the passport to share their pre-travel test status with Emirates.

Eligible Passengers Are Invited To Download The App

On this, Emirates said that the trials aim to make travels more convenient, safe and seamless. Speaking about this, Adel Al Redha Emirates’ chief operating officer said,

“The ability to process passengers’ Covid-19 relevant data for travel digitally will be the way forward. We are pleased to have been pioneers and partner with IATA in trialling this initiative in real-time and soon will be launching other initiatives to further enhance our customer experience.”

For now, trials are being carried out on selected Emirates flights from Dubai to Barcelona and London Heathrow to Dubai and it will soon be expanded to include other routes. Eligible passengers are invited to download the app and enrol for the digital travel pass ahead of their travels.
