Emirates Extends Dubai Departure Check-In Suspensions Till April 18; Here’s What Passengers Tweet

Dubai is facing unstable weather conditions, resulting in several airlines cancelling their operations. Recently, Emirates has recently announced check-in suspensions for Dubai departures. This has raised several doubts among passengers.

Emirates Has Extended Check-In Suspensions For Dubai Departure

Emirates reported on its official X (formerly, Twitter) account that they are extending the suspension of check-in for passengers leaving Dubai, effective until 09:00 on April 18. The reason is the ongoing operational issues brought on by inclement weather and poor road conditions.

The airline had earlier announced that it would be postponing check-in for travellers leaving DXB from 8:00 on April 17 until midnight. Further, customers leaving Dubai are asked to arrive at the airport only if they have a confirmed flight booking, and not before 09:00 on April 18. Also, they are advised to not come to the airport if they have a booking before this time, as they won’t be able to check in.

Passengers who were impacted by flight cancellation were requested to contact their booking agent or seek assistance at ‘Emirates Support’. The following post states that travellers who are already in transit and who are arriving in Dubai will continue to have their flights handled. It is recommended that customers verify the most recent airline schedules and prepare for delays with arrivals and departures.

Passengers Raise Their Doubts

Following the Emirates post, passengers raised their doubts in the comments section. A user wrote that he booked a flight at 0330 on April 18 and has not received a cancellation email and it shows the flight is on time. He further asked if the flight was cancelled and if should he not go to the airport.

Another user stated that she was meant to fly at 14:55 on April 18 and the flight time keeps changing. She has checked in online and can’t go to the airport to check in bags. She further asked if the flight departs, will she be classified as a no-show?

Another person stated that they were due to depart for Brisbane at 10:35 from Dubai and they had already checked in.
