Emirates Has An Iftar In A Box 35,000 Ft In The Air For Its Passengers During Ramadan; Here’s What’s In It

Emirates, the renowned Dubai-based airline, is once again spreading the spirit of Ramadan with its special in-flight iftar meal boxes, promising a delightful culinary experience for passengers soaring through the skies.

A Taste Of Tradition At 35,000 Feet

From Monday, March 11 onwards, Emirates will be serving thousands of iftar meal boxes to passengers on board its flights, as well as those awaiting departure at the gates. With the timing tailored to coincide with the daily iftar start time, passengers can look forward to breaking their fast with an array of delectable treats.

Savoury Delights And Sweet Surprises

Inside the iftar meal boxes, passengers will discover an assortment of light bites to tantalize their taste buds. From creamy hummus paired with spinach and Arabic bread to refreshing tabbouleh accompanied by baba ghanoush, each bite promises to be a flavourful journey. Meanwhile, sandwich options feature Moroccan or zaatar chicken with pickled garlic mayonnaise, adding a touch of savoury goodness to the meal. And for those with a sweet tooth, indulgent delights await, including almond chocolate, Arabic baklawa, cashew nut and pine seed baklawa flowers, alongside traditional dates and laban.

Emirati Heritage In Every Bite With Emirates Iftar Meal Boxes

Not only do the iftar meal boxes offer a culinary delight, but they also pay homage to the rich Emirati heritage. Adorned with distinctive geometric patterns inspired by Al Sadu weavers, the packaging reflects the cultural tapestry of the region, adding an extra layer of authenticity to the dining experience.

While the timing of iftar can be straightforward on the ground, it becomes a bit trickier at cruising altitude. Fear not, as Emirates’ captains are on hand to assist passengers in calculating the correct time to break their fast, ensuring a seamless and respectful transition during this sacred time.

Break Your Fast At The Gate

For passengers awaiting departure, Emirates offers a smaller iftar box at select boarding gates. These boxes contain essentials such as water, a laban, a banana, and dates, allowing passengers to break their fast with convenience and comfort before takeoff.

Lounge Luxuries At Dubai International Airport

In addition to the in-flight offerings, Emirates lounges at Dubai International Airport will be abuzz with traditional Arabic sweets, dates, and coffee throughout Ramadan. Guests can also indulge in a selection of hot and cold Arabic mezze, adding a touch of luxury to their pre-flight experience.
