Travellers can now enjoy the comfort of having their loved ones with them until the final moments before their flight takes off. Visitor Pass Programs

1. ONT+ Visitor Pass Program

The ONT+ Visitor Pass Program is a notable initiative implemented at Ontario International Airport (ONT) in California. This program allows non-travellers to access the airport’s terminals beyond security checkpoints. Visitors are required to apply for a Visitor Pass online, a week before they plan on visiting. Applicants will be required to provide personal information and undergo a security screening similar to passengers. Once approved, they can accompany travellers to the gate, and enjoy the airport amenities.

2. OC AirPASS

The OC AirPASS program, launched in April 2020, is a creative endeavour by John Wayne Airport (SNA) in Orange County, California. It enables visitors to obtain an AirPASS, which grants them access to the secured areas of the airport from 6 am -7 pm. To obtain the AirPASS, visitors must complete an online application on the same day, undergo a security screening, and receive a background check. 

3. MSY Guest Pass Program

The Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) offers the Guest Pass Program, allowing non-travellers to enjoy a unique airport visit. Interested visitors need to pre-register online, providing identification and personal details. Upon arrival, they receive a Visitor Pass after passing a security screening. With the pass, they can access the post-security areas and accompany passengers to the departure gates from 11 am – 8 pm, making farewells more memorable.

4. DTW Destination Pass

Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) introduced the Destination Pass program in 2019. It grants 75 non-ticketed visitors access every day to certain areas of the airport. Interested individuals can apply online, and upon approval, they receive a Destination Pass. This pass enables them to pass through security, visit shops and restaurants, and even accompany passengers to their gates. 

5. SEA Visitor Pass Program

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) launched the Visitor Pass program in 2018 to provide a smoother and more inclusive travel experience. 150 non-ticketed visitors can apply for a pass online, undergo a security screening, and obtain access to the secure areas of the terminal. This allows them to share special moments with travellers, explore the terminal’s offerings, and enjoy the ambiance of the airport environment.

6. FNT Visitor Pass

Since 2021, the Bishop International Airport (FNT) in Flint, Michigan, has offered the Visitor Pass program. This program enables non-travellers to apply for a pass online a day before visiting, undergo a security screening, and enjoy access to the secured areas of the terminal. Travellers can now spend quality time with their loved ones before departure from 8 am – 6 pm.

These innovative visitor pass programs exemplify airports’ efforts to enhance the passenger experience by allowing non-ticketed individuals to share pre-flight moments with their loved ones while maintaining security measures.
