Anand Mahindra is at it again! Besides his brilliant business acumen, the billionaire businessman is known for his top-notch X (formerly Twitter) posts and we have yet another example of his brilliance! Sharing a video of a London-based dabba delivery service, he left a witty comment and called it “evidence of reverse colonisation!” Even netizens can’t help but laud Mahindra’s humour!
Anand Mahindra Calls Dabba Service In London “Reverse Colonisation”
No better—or more ‘delicious’—evidence of reverse colonization!

Anand Mahindra took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a video of a London-based tiffin service that is inspired by Mumbai’s dabbawalas. Called “Dabbadrop”, this dabba service is said to be London’s fastest-growing tiffin delivery service. But it wasn’t the video or the business that caught our attention. It was, rather, Mahindra’s wit and the caption that cracked us up. In his caption, Anand Mahindra said, “No better—or more ‘delicious’—evidence of reverse colonisation!” This was accompanied by a little smiley that just added to the hilarity of the tweet.
The Internet Calls It The “Right Type Of Colonisation!”
Netizens are loving Anand Mahindra’s wit on this post. Many people talked about the iconic dabbawalas of Mumbai and how this startup could be helpful for the people of London. While many left hilarious comments on this post that you cannot miss out on.
Dabbawalla became a casestudy for a reason. To implement such strategies across cities/nations..

India has always been imparting knowledge to the world but never cashed in on it unlike the west

That’s the right type of colonization. No extortion, no famine just tasty dishes.

I think it isn’t about craziness for Indian food.
It is just delivery of frozen Indian cooked dishes to south Asian immigrants in stainless steel carriers to be reheated.
May be small Indian kitchens spread out across the place may work better than this massive logistics play.

Sir here in Mumbai these dabba walas are going off while foreign is adapting it and we are moving more towards burgers and pizzzas.

We need this in Los Angeles

The comments even mentioned how the entire business was more like a food delivery service than the actual dabba service in Mumbai.
Dabbawalas in Mumbai work on a different pattern , they collect food from respective houses & deliver at the work places This is more like a Swiggy, same food being packed at one place & then delivered to various people – anyway good start up
