The best thing about the summer season is mangoes. During family gatherings, one thing that always remains common is a full plate of cut mangoes. And while stepping out, we never forget to enjoy mango desserts. Now, Delhi is once again getting ready to celebrate its love for this fruit with the annual Mango Festival. Read on to know more!

Delhi Gears Up For Its Annual Mango Festival

Delhi Tourism is hosting the 35th Mango Festival at Delhi Haat, Janakpuri. NDTV Food reported that it is a three-day festival that will take place from July 3 to 5. The festival will bring together mango growers, horticulture experts, researchers, and fruit lovers from different parts of the country. Delhi Tourism has been hosting this festival since 1987.

When you attend this festival, you can expect a chance to explore and buy a wide range of mangoes. Here, you can find popular varieties such as Alphonso, Dasheri, Langra, and Banganapalli, while also getting a chance to explore rare varieties like Husnara, Rataul, Ramkela, Kesar, Mallika, Amrapali, Fazli, Hathijhool, and Litchi Mango.

What To Expect More From This Festival?

Here, you’ll get to explore different types of mangoes, with some known for their sweetness, some for their aroma, and others for their unique flavour. As per NDTV Food, visitors will also get to see mangoes in different sizes, ranging from as small as a grape to almost as large as a papaya.

Apart from fresh mangoes, the visitors at the festival can shop for a variety of mango-based products. Stalls will offer pickles, chutneys, jams, preserves, juices, candies, desserts, and more. Those interested in gardening can also buy mango saplings to grow at home.

If you’re a big mango lover, then this festival is also organising a mango-eating competition, with separate contests for men and women. The festival will run from 12 PM to 9 PM.
