India is known globally for its diverse culture, rich heritage, picturesque destinations, beaches, mountains, deserts, tempting delicacies, great hospitality, and whatnot. Hunderman village is the last Indian village in Kargil and is nestled at the Line of Control. This is the remarkable settlement where you will find the doors to the Museum of Memories housing so many artecrafts and memories. From decades old-coins to fragments of wars back then, this museum takes you on a journey to people’s life back then. After the war in 1971, a lot of things between India and Pakistan. Families shifted from one country to another leaving their everything behind.

The Museum of Memories displays the lives of these people and how everything changed all of a sudden but the village remained still all the time. This transports you to a time in the past with all its belongings such as documents, letters, tools, utensils, and a lot more.

The Hunderman village came under Pakistan between the time period of 1949 and the 1965 Indo-Pakistan War, according to the People’s Archive of Rural India by Stanzin Saldon. Post-1965 war, the village was not a part of any of the neighbouring countries; neither India nor Pakistan. After the 1971 war, the village became a part of India.

Not only the Museum Of Memories but even the Hunderman village also has a lot to offer to the visitors. The village is rich in history, lives, and stories. The houses and huts here are very different than usual. Made with three-layered walls of mud and stones, the houses were built to deal with the freezing temperature.
