The Karnataka State Police Department has set the record straight on this viral message and has denied any claim on offering free transportation for women between 10 PM to 6 AM in the state. They called this message “fake” and have requested people not to believe any random viral claims online.

Karnataka Police Denies Viral Claim About Free Travel For Women

On Thursday evening, the Karnataka State Police Department clarified that claims of a new free travel scheme for women are “fake”. They took to X (formerly Twitter) to respond to the viral message circulating online. They have issued a statement denying any new free travel scheme for women and have asked people not to trust any such viral message.

In the tweet, the Karnataka State Police said, “Watch out! The message circulating about free travel for women from 10 PM to 6 AM upon contacting the police helpline is FAKE. Please rely only on official sources. Dial #112 for any emergency.”

The police have emphasised that this entire claim is baseless and untrue. They also urged the citizens to use ‘112’ for emergencies only. Safe to say, that the viral message about free travel for women in Karnataka is merely a hoax.

Police Request People To Rely Only On Official Sources For Information

A viral message has been going around in Karnataka that claims that the state police will provide complimentary transportation for women between 10 PM and 6 AM. The message further claimed that single women can use helpline numbers 1091 or 7837018555 if they were not able to find a ride.

Now, the Karnataka Police has denied all such claims and have called it “fake.” They have, instead, asked people to only trust reliable sources for any such news and have asked people to turn to the helpline numbers in case of emergencies only.
