It’s no secret that people take care when handling fire hazard-prone things. This could be anything from electrical appliances to gas cylinders, as they can lead to scary situations if not handled properly. Something similar happened in an area of Abu Dhabi where a building fire happened due to a gas cylinder explosion. We are talking about Hamdan Street in Abu Dhabi where a fire erupted on Thursday night.

Fire Erupts In Building On Hamdan Street

On Thursday night, Abu Dhabi’s Hamdan Street was bustling with a lot of activity. The reason for this was that there was a blaze that erupted in the Al Zahiya section, which was previously known as a tourist club area of the bustling Hamdan Street. As a result, teams from Abu Dhabi Police and Abu Dhabi Civil Defence were dispatched to the area. It’s worth mentioning that the initial message about the fire was sent out by the Abu Dhabi Police at 9:55 PM. However, later at 12 AM, it was confirmed by the authorities that they had contained the fire.

Yes, the forces issued the update about 40 minutes later that the fire had been dealt with. However, no details about the extent of the blaze or any casualties have been reported so far. In fact, in its post, the Abu Dhabi police has urged people to gain information about the incident through official channels only.

Recently Blaze Engulfed A Residential Building In Sharjah

At this point, it’s worth mentioning that this report of fire comes not long after there was a building fire that happened in Sharjah. Taking place at the Al Majaz 2 area on Sunday afternoon, June 30, this fire broke out in the residential tower. With the authorities immediately evacuating the building, the residents waited for updates from the authorities with anxious breath as they watched them fight the blaze.

This fire began on the 10th floor of the 13-storey building at around 1 PM on Sunday, June 30 and civil defence, ambulance, and police team were deployed on the site, for a short duration only. However, an update from this incident relay is that electricity and power have already been restored in the building and tenants have been moved back. But, several have had to relocate to other places. For instance, tenants on the ninth floor or above are not allowed to go inside the building as the fire broke out on the 10th floor.

To avoid such instances of fire that can happen due to carelessness, one must follow all the safety instructions when dealing with things that are fire hazards.
