Flydubai To Provide Free Covid-19 Medical Cover For All Travellers

FlyDubai, UAE’s budget airline is now offering free Covid cover for all passengers. Travellers flying with the airline will automatically be entitled to free covid cover in case they contract the coronavirus. This means passengers need not worry about health expenses or quarantine if they test positive for Covid when abroad. The free cover is valid for all passengers flying to any destination between now and November 30. On that note, here are all the countries now open for tourists. 

How Long Is The Cover Valid?

The Covid cover is valid for 31 days from the date of the first flight with Flydubai, regardless of whether it is a one-way or return journey.

Will You Be Covered Even If You’re Hopping Destinations?

Passengers who land at their chosen destination and opt to continue their journey by train, bus or plane will also be eligible for the Covid cover until those 31 days are up.

What does the policy cover?

The policy is covered by Nextcare and includes hospital and quarantine costs. All passengers will be covered for medical and hospital costs up to AED 638,118 (€150,000) per person. As well as quarantine costs of up to AED 425 (€100) a day will also be included in the free cover. In addition, a funeral cost up to AED 6,376 (€1,500) will also be included, in case a situation arises.

What Is Not Included in The Cover?

The cover does not include Covid-19 test, or other expenses if passengers don’t test positive for the virus.

How Can You Avail The Free cover?

Passengers who test positive can automatically contact the airline’s dedicated Cover Assistance team. They are reachable 24 hours a day, seven days a week by phone, WhatsApp or email.

FlyDubai, Air India Announce New Rules For Passengers Departing From UAE

The Indian budget carrier revealed that all passengers departing from Dubai must carry a Covid-19 negative PCR test result.   Air India Express also issued a notice to its passengers departing from Abu Dhabi. Travellers leaving Abu Dhabi via Air India Express must also submit a Covid-19 negative test result. The test must be done within 96-hours of departure. Children under the age of 12 and passengers who have a moderate or severe disability are exempt from this test. The new rule will be effective from 21 August.

Airlines will then collect the negative PCR test report at the check-in counter. In addition, Indian citizens returning to India must fill the Air Suvidha Self Reporting form available online, before reporting to the airport. Also note that Abu Dhabi Residents No Longer Need Entry Permit To Return To The UAE.

On the other hand, FlyDubai announced that the pre-travel rapid testing is not mandatory for FlyDubai passengers travelling to any destination in India.

Emirates Is The World’s First Airline To Offer FREE Covid Cover

Emirates was the first airline to offer free covid cover for all passengers. Travellers can book their flights on emirates.com or with a travel agent and will automatically receive free global cover for COVID-19 related costs. The cover is valid for 31 days from the moment you take your first flight, and it covers you even if you travel onwards to another city.
