Social media is a good place to be sometimes, where people are free to share their experiences. It also helps people know about different new things around them and acts like a guide sometimes.
A user on social networking site X (formerly known as Twitter) by the username @captrajlakhani shared a video. In that video, a woman can be seen demonstrating how to use the smart trolley step-by-step.
The video began with her talking about how India’s digital transformation makes us feel proud of our country. She mentioned that the smart trolleys that are available at the Hyderabad airport look different from the rest, which is why many people refrain from using it.
Here’s why she thought of sharing this guide.
- Scan the QR code with your boarding pass after selecting “Start Now.” Click “Find Your Flight” if that doesn’t work.
- Look over the flight schedule and choose your flight.
- Your airport name, departure time, gate number, and flight status will all be displayed on the trolley’s screen once you’ve made your selection. The trolley will also notify you based on your boarding time.

Looks great. I think trolley should guide towards the gate too. This could be achieved with beacons.

Cutting-Edge Technologies At Airports
That IS pretty cool. I’ve never encountered such trolleys in overseas airports…but I may be wrong. Are we truly amongst the very first to introduce these? 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 pic.twitter.com/IEbZVI4BbM

Anand Mahindra also shared the video on his official X account and mentioned that he has not seen such trolleys in overseas airports.
A fleet of more than 3,000 luggage trolleys has been outfitted with IoT technology under the Airport luggage trolley project, utilising the LoRa (Long Range) platform. With the use of this technology, passengers will be able to access baggage trolleys more quickly and in real-time.
Additional cutting-edge technologies that the airport has put into place include the first-ever centralised and integrated Airport Operations Control Centre (AOCC), E-Boarding, camera-based contactless terminal entry, Express Check-in, Automatic Tray Retrieval System (ATRS), AI-based passenger flow management, and a number of others.
Moreover, the 14th International Annual Conference Cum Awards for Civil Aviation 2023, held in January, saw Hyderabad’s GMR International Airport recognised as the ‘Best Airport in the Application of Technology,’ a coveted distinction.
