How Will Flying E-Taxis Reduce Travel Time To Bengaluru Airport?
Bengaluru is known for many incredible wonders nationwide. At the same time, it is infamous for its crazy traffic congestion. From bustling roads in prominent parts of the city to taking the way to reach the airport, travelling somewhere here often feels like a struggling experience.
It looks like the time is coming to bid adieu to visuals of endless cars waiting to reach Bengaluru airport. Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) and Sarla Aviation partnered to launch electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft. The all-new collaboration is all set to bring fascinating flying e-taxis to the industry to facilitate faster transportation services to the airport.
Currently, it takes at least over an hour to reach the Bengaluru airport from the main city. The primary goal of the new project is to simplify this journey and cut the travel time to the least duration possible. This aircraft comes with four battery packs and seven electric motors. Along with a pilot, six passengers can commute at once. It is capable of running at a maximum speed of 250 km/h.

If the project takes place according to the plans, Sarla Aviation’s exciting introduction can drag down the travel time from 1.5 hours to as little as five minutes, according to a report by News 18. The electric aircraft and its features look promising. With efficient execution and operations, travellers can swiftly reach Bengaluru airport from busy parts of the city in just 20 minutes by flying e-taxis.
Right now, the concerned team is working to develop a prototype. According to a report by Moneycontrol, the entire approval process and launch of the transportation services will take years.
