A viral video showing a rat wandering inside an outlet of Hyderabad’s iconic Paradise Biryani has left the internet shocked. An X user shared the clip, reportedly filmed at the branch next to Prasad’s IMAX, where the rodent could be seen moving around freely. The video spread fast, sparking concern and raising serious questions about hygiene and food safety standards.
Customer Spots Rat Crawling At Paradise Biryani In Hyderabad
X user @revathitweets shared a concerning video with a caption, “Paradise Biryani With A Side Of Rats!” As per her tweet, the video was filmed by a customer “who went to have chai there and was shocked to see the place crawling with rats!”
The post read, “This shocking scene is from the ‘World’s Favourite’ Paradise Biryani outlet next to Prasad’s IMAX, Hyderabad.” In the clip, when the customer began recording a rat moving around the area, a staff member stepped in and questioned “the need to take photos,” insisting that “there’s nothing in the boxes.” But the video clearly shows a rat climbing out of the boxes and wandering around a stack where soft drink bottles were kept.
“Every Paradise outlet has a wall full of history with pictures of famous people who dined with them. Maybe they should add rats also on their wall of fame. Not really shocked by this video. Eating outside in Hyderabad these days is an absolute gamble with your health,” the post concluded with this remark.
Netizens Share Their Two Cents
As you can imagine, the moment the video showing a rat roaming around Paradise Biryani surfaced online, the internet did exactly what it does best—turned the whole incident into a meme fest! The best one? Ratatouille jokes about the rat checking the biryani quality! Of course, there were some users who were genuinely shocked and raised concerns about food safety standards.
Cracking Ratatouille jokes, someone commented, “That’s the chef there making sure your food tastes right.”
“It’s ‘Ratatouille’ …their special chef,” another one added.
Another one added, “Lol, Ratatouille in real life!”
A concerned X user shared in the comments, “That’s literally the same with every mass market cloud kitchen. Most cloud kitchens don’t have dine-in, hence they don’t bother with cleanliness, hygiene and pest control. Just get an FSSAI license, use fake paneer/butter, and start minting money.”
“New special menu: Rat Biryani,” another comment read.
Someone sarcastically commented, “Seems to be a special flavour being introduced to biryani by Paradise.”
