Did You Know Mumbai’s MOKAI Has A ‘Do Not Touch’ Button That Turns The Washroom Into A Dance Floor?

Well, Mumbai has a lot of fun cafes that are worth exploring, but it takes something truly different to stand out. MOKAI in Bandra does exactly that. Apart from their aesthetic interior, the one thing that quickly grabbed attention was their washroom, can you imagine? Read on to know exactly why!

MOKAI’s Washroom Turns Into A Dance Floor

Owned by Karreena Bulchandani, this isn’t just a place to grab coffee; it’s an experience altogether. From the moment you arrive, the space feels thoughtfully designed. The Kintsugi-inspired exterior sets the tone, and once inside, the café opens into a bright, airy space with a transparent roof that lets in natural light. Instead of one large seating area, the café is divided into sections that reveal themselves gradually, making you want to explore.

But apart from all this, do you know what really makes the place quirky and fun? It’s their washroom. At MOKAI, a quirky feature is grabbing attention for turning an ordinary moment into something completely unexpected. Unlike a normal washroom, the MOKAI washroom has a hidden dance floor. Yes, you heard it right. Tucked inside this trendy spot is a button clearly labelled “Do Not Touch”. Naturally, that only makes people more curious. And those who give in to the temptation are in for a surprise. Pressing the button transforms the washroom into a mini dance floor, complete with flashing lights and party vibes. What starts as a routine visit quickly turns into a full-blown celebration.

MOKAI taps right into this idea by blending nightlife energy with unexpected design elements. The result is a space where even the most mundane corners become part of the entertainment.

More About MOKAI Mumbai

Apart from the little washroom dance floor, another very impressive thing that makes MOKAI unique is their manual pour-over bar, where coffee is brewed almost like a ritual, and corners like the marble coffee bar and Wall of Collabs that reflect the brand’s creative side.

The menu keeps things interesting, too. Along with coffee and matcha, you’ll find dishes like savoury cereal bowls, gochugaru honey French toast, burgers, and even chocolate wontons.
