Masaba Gupta’s Healthy Ragi Waffles
Masaba Gupta, a well-known Indian designer and founder of House of Masaba, is not just about fashion. She’s also a foodie who often shares glimpses of her healthy meals with followers on Instagram. From oats soaked in almond milk to Grilled Basil Fish for her postpartum diet, she has shown it all.
Now, she has given a healthy twist to a dessert we all love: waffles! Usually considered a guilty pleasure made with refined flour, eggs, butter, and loaded with whipped cream or chocolate, waffles aren’t exactly guilt-free. But Masaba’s version, made with ragi flour and topped with chocolate almond protein spread, busts that myth!

A Simple Recipe You Can Try
Ragi waffles are not just unique but also highly nutritious compared to traditional ones. They are wholesome, filling, and easy to make at home. Here’s a quick recipe you can try yourself. The recipe is by archanaskitchen.com; however, you can customise it as per your choice.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup ragi flour (finger millet flour)
- 1/2 cup wheat flour
- 1/4 cup oat flour
- 2 whole eggs
- 2 teaspoons sugar (you can also use dates)
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 tbsp baking powder
- A pinch of salt
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Oil or butter for greasing the waffle maker
Method
- Beat eggs in a bowl, add milk, sugar, baking powder, salt, and vanilla until it turns into a smooth batter. (You can also use a blender)
- Combine the batter with ragi flour, wheat flour, and oat flour.
- Preheat and grease the waffle maker with butter.
- Pour the batter, close the lid, and cook until golden and crispy.
Serve warm with a chocolate protein spread of your choice. You can also garnish with blueberries, just like Masaba Gupta.
