FoodSphere: Riyadh Unveils A Culinary Oasis With 3 Themed Zones To Eat, Play & Learn!

Riyadh just added a delicious new feather to its futuristic cap, and no, it’s not another glitzy mall. Say hello to FoodSphere, Riyadh’s newest 11,000-square-metre culinary and sustainability wonderland. Located on the ever-buzzing Tahlia Street, this isn’t your typical food museum. Think science, culture, and nature wrapped up in a techy tortilla of immersive exhibits and interactive zones.

FoodSphere Riyadh: Where Coffee, Bees, and Butterflies Mingle Over Sustainability

Basically, it’s a foodie’s dream with an eco-conscious twist—and it smells like Arabic coffee.

Zone Out (In the Best Way)

Let’s break it down like a good mezze platter. FoodSphere is sliced into three core zones: Oasis, Apiary, and Biosphere. Each one takes you deeper into the Kingdom’s roots and rocketing future.

  1. The Oasis – Where Dates and Beans Rule
Start your journey in the Oasis, a gloriously scented celebration of Saudi Arabia’s most iconic treasures: dates and coffee. A flavour map lets you sniff your way across regions, while a date library (yes, that’s a thing now) lets you pull out drawers like a curious chef-in-training to learn all about the Kingdom’s prized date varieties.

Don’t forget to stop at Rawaa Coffee, the in-house café serving up locally roasted beans with a side of heritage.

  1. The Apiary – Bee Real
Next up: bees. You walk into an actual working beehive installation—minus the risk of being stung, obviously—and discover just how vital these buzzing buddies are to our planet and to Saudi agriculture. It’s weirdly hypnotic, very educational, and makes you rethink that honey dipper in your kitchen drawer.
  2. The Biosphere – Where Things Get Futuristic
Then it’s time to get trippy. The Biosphere is a giant globe of green dreams. Think food sustainability, farming innovation, and a whole butterfly pavilion that flutters with beauty and meaning. You’ll be dodging wings and wondering why you ever doubted science could be this cool.

Oh, and yes—this zone comes with a price tag (SAR75 for adults, SAR35 for kids), but trust us, it’s worth it for the butterflies alone.

Bigger Picture, Brighter Future

FoodSphere is just the appetiser in Riyadh’s eight-course Oasis project. With themes ranging from space to sports, the Riyadh Municipality and Riyadh Holding are cooking up a full menu of interactive, educational experiences that merge tradition with tomorrow.

It’s less about what’s for dinner and more about what’s on the horizon—especially for a city carving its future with culture and innovation.

Final Bite

FoodSphere isn’t just a place to geek out over honeycombs and coffee roasts. It’s a joyful, family-friendly spot that stirs up curiosity and respect for the planet. So if you’re in Riyadh, make the trip. It’s free to enter (except the Biosphere), and who knows? You might leave with a new obsession for date facts or a sudden urge to become a beekeeper.

Visit. Wander. Learn. And don’t forget to register before you go.
