Tanya Narbut (@NarbutTanya) took to her X handle to share a video showing how Paris residents have found a way to escape the heat. In the video, we can see dozens of people spending time inside an IKEA store to get relief from the soaring temperatures. The video was posted with the caption, “This is what life looks like without air conditioning when there’s an IKEA right next to your house.”

In the video, people can be seen relaxing in different sections of the IKEA store. Many are sitting on display sofas and armchairs, while others are lying on mattresses to cool down and relax. Some people in the store are also scrolling through their phones, chatting with friends, or using handheld fans.

So to help residents stay safe, authorities have introduced several measures. These include schools temporarily closing or changing their schedules, while hospitals and health services are working harder to support people struggling with the extreme heat.
