Delhi’s National Street Food Festival Is Here
After three years of hiatus, Delhi’s favourite National Street Food Festival is back in the capital. The festival was discontinued owing to the global pandemic. The 12th edition of this food festival will last for three days, beginning today and continuing until January 15 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. About 23 states with over 120 stalls are participating in this street food festival. The stalls will be arranged according to the zone they belong to, like North, East, South, and West.
You can easily navigate through different zones and try amazing and unique dishes like bajre ka halwa, bamboo chicken, and more. The organisers this year have also introduced consumer feedback forms for foodies to leave their remarks. All the stall owners have been given instructions and training about hygiene online.

An Effort To Promote Street Vendors And Street Food
The National Coordinator of the National Association of Street Vendors in India (Nasvi), Arbind Singh shared his thoughts. He said that the main idea behind this festival is to promote all the street vendors in the city. The National Street Food Festival is an attempt to create a culture of street food loyalty among the people. Nasvi’s head of street food program, Sangita Singh, said that the festival believes in giving limelight to the talented street vendors. Bringing them into the larger public eye rather than well-established names is what they are looking at.
The festival was first organised in 2009 and has been working to instil a culture of serving people hygienic and safe food among street vendors.
