Recently, three Maldivian ministers made derogatory remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to Lakshadweep. This sparked a controversy and Indians are now attempting to boycott going to Maldives. In its stead, a heavy focus is now being put on Lakshadweep, the Indian Union territory which is also known for pristine beaches. This gave rise to many people using the #ExploreIndianIslands. Users highlighted Lakshadweep and other Indian islands to explore and even some celebrities recommended a few places to go.

R Madhavan reminisced about the time he shot Alaipayuthey in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands of India. He mentioned that the marine life was pristine and that he thoroughly enjoyed snorkelling there.

Randeep Hooda, too, got nostalgic about the time he shot a portion of Veer Savarkar on the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. He even called it a must-visit.

Anil Kapoor also quoted the famous Robert Frost and even modified it a bit. He said that he couldn’t wait to explore the beauty of Lakshadweep.

In a lengthy post on X (formerly known as Twitter), the former cricket player talked about a number of Indian beaches that could rival that of Maldives.
