In different parts of the world, there lies interesting sites of Shivlingams that are distinct and very unique. In today’s virtual exploration of spiritual places, let’s take a look at different places dedicated to Lord Shiva around us.

Here’s A Thread Of Unique Sites Of Shivlingams

Taking to the X platform, Varsha Singh (@varshaparmar06) shared a thread of beautiful holy sites of Shivlingams in different parts of India and abroad too.

1. Bank Of Tungabhadra River

Varsha shared a magnificent glimpse of an ancient Shivlingam formed on the bank of the Tungabhadra River. Head to Hampi to catch this blissful sight.

2. Gulu Guli Mahadev Mandir

Karnataka’s Shivamogga is home to Gulu Guli Mahadev Mandir. This religious site is renowned for underwater Shivlingam.

3. Sapteshwar Mahadev Temple

Sapteshwar Mahadev Temple in Gujarat’s Sabarmati is a unique site of Shivalingam. The mandir is called Sapteshwar because water from seven streams falls on the shiv murti here.

4. Gupteshwar Caves

Dedicated to Lord Shiva, Gupteshwar caves is located around 55 km from Jeypore. Devotees from all around visit here to offer prayers and seek blessings.

5. Velliangiri Andavar Cave Mandir

Nestled in Coimbatore’s Velliangiri Hills, Velliangiri Andavar Cave Temple is a magnificent sight to witness the majesticity of Lord Shiva.

6. In Hampi

Surrounded by abundant picturesque views, there are 108 and 1008 Shivlingams carved out on two boulders in Hampi.

7. Gangeshwar Mahadev Mandir

Located around 3 km from Diu, Gangeshwar Mahadev Mandir is interconnected with the Arabian Sea. The most blissful experience here is to see nature performing the water consecration ceremony of five Shivlingams.

8. Vaghera Hill Fort

Nestled near Nashik, the wonderful Vaghera Hill Fort is one of India’s unique sites of Shivlingams.

9. Muregar Falls

There is an ancient Shivlingam on the rocks at Muregar Falls in Sirsi.

10. In Unakoti

Tripura’s Unakoti is home to a sacred site dedicated to Lord Shiva worshipped by flowers and agarbatti by devotees.

11. In Vietnam

The X thread of unique sites of Lord Shiva shared by Varsha Singh includes an ancient Shivlingam in Vietnam.

12. Raghunatha Swamy Mandir

Nestled 6 km from Hampi, the Raghunatha Swamy Temple is a wonderful place to explore. It is located on the Malyavanta Hill.

13. Kedareshwar Cave

Kedareshwar Cave is a famous historical hill fort in Maharashtra. The Shivlingam at this site is standing tall on only one pillar. It is believed that the rest three pillars have broken and everything will end if this pillar falls down.

14. Gupta Mahadev Mandir

Gupta Mahadev Mandir is in the Mahadeo Hills of Pachmarhi. Known as an ancient cave temple, it is located 13 km from Pachmarhi Bus Station. The sideways are so narrow that only one devotee can visit at once.

15. Sirsi Taluk

Nestled in Sirsi Taluk in Karnataka’s Uttara Kannada district, there are thousands of Shivlingams on rocks naturally formed in the Shalmala river and its banks.
