With 2023 coming to an end, it is time to recall everything that has happened this year, including travel trends. OYO, a hospitality company, has unveiled its year-end travel trend in India. Here are the details about OYO Travelopedia 2023.

OYO Travelopedia 2023: Hyderabad Is The Most Booked City In India!

The global hotel technology company OYO has released Travelopedia 2023, its annual travel trends index, as 2023 draws to a close. The analysis, which draws on OYO’s global booking data of over 93 million users, identifies important trends that have influenced traveller experiences in Asia and Europe, including India, the UK, the US, Germany, Denmark, Belgium, Netherlands, Indonesia, Malaysia, and other regions. The data is for the period of January 1, 2023, to December 1, 2023.

India’s most booked city is Hyderabad, closely followed by Delhi, Bangalore, and Kolkata. In 2023, Uttar Pradesh emerged as the most often booked state, followed by Maharashtra, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh. Jaipur leads the list of cities for leisure, followed by Goa, Mysore, and Pondicherry. The most popular spiritual and pilgrimage site is acknowledged to be Puri, which is followed by Amritsar, Varanasi, and Haridwar.

The towns with the most year-over-year gain in bookings were smaller ones, such as Digha, Warangal, Guntur, and Gorakhpur. Peak Booking Day: September 30, 2023, saw the most bookings, and out of all the long weekends in the year, the period from September 30 to October 2 saw the most bookings.

Domestic Travel Is Still Popular

OYO Global Chief Service Officer Shreerang Godbole stated that the tourism sector saw 2023 as particularly noteworthy since it may be the start of full normalcy again following the difficulties caused by COVID-19. Travelling domestically is still very popular, thanks to the pandemic. Travel to pleasure places is growing at the fastest rate in the world; in India, corporate travel is also growing at a notable rate.

According to Travelopedia 2023, May 2023 was the month with the most bookings, while September 30, 2023, was the most booked day. Among all the long weekends in the year, the period from September 30 to October 2 had the most reservations.

According to OYO, the top five US states for travellers in 2023 were Texas, Oregon, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Florida; the top five US cities for travellers were Houston, Tulsa, Irving, Oklahoma City, and Wade. It continued, naming London, Plymouth, Middlesbrough, Sheffield, and Eastbourne as the UK’s top vacation spots for 2023.

In terms of Europe, the most popular travel locations this year were North Holland and Guelders in the Netherlands, West Flanders and Lige in Belgium, Salzburg and Tyrol in Austria, Blavand and Marielyst in Denmark, and the Baltic and North Sea areas of Germany.
