When you think of Maharashtra’s most influential leaders, I’m sure the late Balasaheb Thackeray comes to mind. On this episode of Curly Tales Sunday Brunch, our Editor-in-Chief Kamiya Jani met his grandson and one of the youngest politicians in India, Aaditya Thackeray. We have heard him speak at various events, but in this episode, we got to know him more as a person with his travel and food preferences.
These Are Aaditya Thackeray’s Favourite Dishes
Our Editor-in-Chief Kamiya Jani revealed that Aaditya Thackeray is a huge foodie and that he had a list of restaurants ready when asked. She asked him about his favourite dishes, and his list was quite long. Aaditya first named Varan Bhaat with a little lemon juice or ghee on it, which surely is every Maharashtrian’s comfort food. The list then had names like bhaji pav, Maggi, pasta, and Thai curry.
He further revealed that whenever he is travelling, he makes sure that he tries the local food of the place. Be it a new country or a new state or even different districts in Maharashtra, he makes sure to try the local cuisine there. Aaditya said that he is fond of non vegetarian food as well, particularly seafood like crabs and prawns. He is allergic to shellfish though.
He Speaks French With People Who Don’t
Kamiya asked Aaditya Thackeray about his progress in learning French, to which he answered that he is still learning it on the Duolingo application. He revealed that he uses a political trick of speaking in French with people who don’t speak that language. And you guessed it right—it really works! He then reminisced about the days when he used to sit with his grandfather, the late Balasaheb Thackeray, which made him choose politics as a career.
Kamiya and Aaditya spoke about food preferences, travel preferences, developments in Maharashtra, and Aaditya’s other interests apart from politics as well. So if you want to know this youth icon more as a person, you must watch this amazing episode on YouTube as soon as possible.
