1. The Himalayas

Stretching across India, Nepal, Bhutan, China, and Pakistan, the Himalayas are home to the highest mountain peak on Earth, Mount Everest, at a staggering 8,848.90 metres.

2. The Karakoram

Another giant in Asia, shared by Pakistan, China, and India, the Karakoram boasts K2, the second-highest mountain globally, reaching 8,611 metres.

Carving through Afghanistan and Pakistan, the Hindu Kush range is famed for Tirich Mir, its loftiest peak at 7,708 metres.

4. The Pamirs

Nicknamed the ‘Roof of the World’, the Pamirs sprawl across Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. The range’s crowning glory is Kongur Tagh, reaching 7,649 metres.

5. The Hengduan Mountains

A dramatic range on the China-Myanmar border, the Hengduan Mountains feature Mount Gongga, its highest peak at 7,556 metres.
