1. Worldwide Travel Advisory Issued By US For Its Citizens Abroad

On Thursday, the US State Department issued a worldwide travel advisory for all its citizens who are overseas. This advisory comes after the increased tension from the Israel-Hamas war. This alert by the department has asked US citizens to exercise more caution as there is a risk of potential terrorist attacks, violent actions, or demonstrations against US interests and citizens.  It has asked Americans overseas to stay alert at famous tourist places. 

2. Tourism In Singapore Spikes, Thanks To Coldplay & Taylor Swift Tours

As tourism in various countries is slowly returning to pre-pandemic levels, Singapore is expected to witness a huge inflow because of various events taking place there. The Lion City is slowly becoming a global entertainment hub with events like the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix, which took place in September. In 2024, Taylor Swift and Coldplay will have their concerts scheduled here, which will give the country’s tourism a necessary boost.

3. Himachal Government Selects 11 Sites To Promote Eco-Tourism

The state government of Himachal Pradesh has selected 11 pristine eco-tourism sites in a bid to promote sustainable tourism. All these sites are beautifully nestled amid forested areas. Neugal Park, Bir Billing, Neugal Park in Palampur, Saurabh Van Vihar, Kheerganga, Sumarupa in Parvati Forest, Narkanda in Kotgarh, Potter Hill Camping Site, Shogi Camping Site, Kasol, and Sojha in Seraj

4. Northern Railway Rolls Out 34 Special Train Services For Festive Season

Since Wednesday, Northern Railway has rolled out about 34 special train services in order to manage the rush that happens during the festive season. These services will continue to run until December 11. They have also added extra coaches to the trains, which led to 5.5 lakh extra berths and seats, making festive travel convenient for travellers. The key destinations that these trains will connect to include Patna, Lucknow, Guwahati, Kolkata, Delhi, and more. 

5. Myanmar’s Boat Festival, Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, Is Back After 3 Years

On Thursday, thousands of Buddhists celebrated the return of one of the nation’s biggest festivals, Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda. In this 17-day festival, four sacred Buddha images are kept on a golden barge. It is then rowed through villages that connect the shores of popular tourist hotspots. Dozens of boats loaded with devotees followed these barges with the sounds of drums and cymbals celebrating this return.
