Fully Vaccinated Americans No Longer Need To Wear Masks In Public Announces CDC

American faced its share of hardship amid the pandemic- however, with mass vaccinated drive happening in full swing, the country is giving a tough fight to the pandemic and how. And now, after reopening certain things in an attempt to bring life back to normalcy, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has announced new updates for Americans. Fully Vaccinated Americans Can Roam Without Masks Outdoors

Fully vaccinated Americans will no longer need to wear masks as per the new health guidelines. CDC Director Rochelle Walensky, in a news conference, said,

“Today is another day we can take a step back to the normalcy of before. There are many situations where fully vaccinated people do not need to wear a mask, particularly if they are outdoors. I am optimistic people will use this information to take personal responsibility to protect themselves and protect others.”

The US Has Administered More Than 230 Million Doses So Far

However, this doesn’t mean that citizens can freely roam around in crowded places too. Walensky said that all Americans, regardless of their vaccination status, should wear masks in crowded settings. President Joe Biden also signed an executive order in January which states that masks are a must on all forms of public transportation like planes and in airports, regardless of someone’s vaccination status.

CDC Director Rochelle Walensky also said that until more people are vaccinated, we should wear masks and follow all the protocols. In terms of vaccination, about 54 per cent of Americans 18 and older have received at least one dose of a vaccine, and 37 per cent are considered fully vaccinated, according to the CDC. So far, more than 230 million doses are administered.

Vaccinated People Don’t Need To Quarantine If They Come In Contact With Someone Who Tests Positive

Besides this, the new update also states that vaccinated people can get together indoors with other vaccinated people without the need to wear a mask. Furthermore, those who have received the jab are not required to quarantine if they come into contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19.
