G20 Summit Delhi Metro Update: All Except Supreme Court Station To Be Open; Other Routes To Take

The whole nation is buzzing with talks about the G20 summit that will take place on the 9th and 10th of September. As a safety measure for the G20 Summit, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation or the DMRC is limiting travel via the metro rail. Here are all the details you need to know if you want to travel to the area. Delhiites might face considerable inconvenience in terms of travel as many restrictions have been imposed even on the movement of traffic.

G20 Summit Delhi Metro Update: Supreme Court Station To Be Shut

As a safety measure for the upcoming G20 Summit, travel in Delhi has been significantly restricted. Though all the stations of Delhi Metro except Supreme Court Station will continue to allow deboarding and boarding, the timings may be altered.

According to an article published by Hindustan Times, the metro services will commence earlier than usual. Instead of beginning at the usual 6 AM, it will begin at 4 AM from the 8th of September until the 10th.

Formerly known as Pragati Maidan, this station will remain closed from 5 AM onwards on the two days of the G20 Summit. Residents are advised to not leave their homes unless necessary and to cooperate with the restrictions put in place.

Alternative Routes To Take If You Want To Access The Region

In case travelling is unavoidable, there are certain routes that you may take in order to make your travel more convenient. If you need to reach the area around Supreme Court station, you may alight at the Mandi House station situated on the blue and violet line.

You may also alight at the Indraprastha station on the blue line in order to reach the area around Pragati Maidan. According to an article published Livemint, the following are the routes that can be availed of if you are travelling: –

Streets you can take on The East-West Corridor: Ashram Chowk, AIIMS Chowk, Azadpur Chowk, Brar Square, Dhaula Kuan, DND Flyover, Moolchand Underpass, Naraina Flyover, Punjabi Bagh Junction, Rajouri Garden Junction and Ring Road.

Streets you can take on the North-South Corridor: Delhi-Meerut Expressway, ISBT Kashmere Gate, Majnu Ka Tila, Noida Link Road, Pusa Road, Sarai Kale Khan and Yudhistir Setu. Further, Chandgiram Akhara, Mall Road, and Narayan Jagat Marg can also be taken.
