The sacred festival will be observed on June 16, 2024. The tithi will begin at 2:32 AM on June 16 and continue till 4:43 AM on June 17, according to a report by GHDays. Just ahead of Ganga Dussehra, multiple Yog and Nakshatra are aligned. Hasta Nakshatra will start at 8:14 AM on June 15. It will conclude the next day at 11:13 AM. The next is Vyatipat Yoga. It will start at 7:08 PM on June 15 and end at 8:11 PM on the next day. These days are revered for astrological purposes. Many devotees observe these spiritual dates.

This auspicious festival celebrates the holy Ganga River’s descent to Earth from Lord Shiva’s hair. It observes the day when the river arrived on Earth from heaven and graced her presence. The significant day is celebrated on the 10th day of the Jyeshtha month of the Hindu religious calendar every year.

People all around India celebrate the sacred occasion. However, it is mostly observed in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal. Lakhs of devotees gather at the banks of the holy river on this special day. They worship the river, take a bath in the water, and perform various rituals. Devotees recite mantras while immersing themselves in the river. Many often offer tarpan to their ancestors.
