With Omicron making headlines these days, many countries are now considering a booster dose for quarantine-free travel and access to public spaces. Germany has gone a step ahead to exempt passengers with booster shots from testing before entering leisure spots like nightclubs and discos. However, they would still require a negative test report before entering hospitals and care homes.
On September 19, Germany removed India and many more countries from its high-risk regions list. So, this means fully vaccinated Indians who’ve taken a WHO-approved jab and have a valid visa, can get quarantine exemption. Moreover, there’s no restriction on Indian travellers when it comes to the purpose of visit. This move comes after Germany removed 14 countries from its list of high-risk areas, including India.
Travel Updates For People Visiting Germany
Germany has loosened travel restrictions. The German government now permits fully vaccinated travellers to skip compulsory testing and quarantine. According to the Associated Press, the German lawmakers approved these changes in guidelines on May 12. But travellers from countries recording Covid variants and clusters, can’t avail of these benefits. The good news is that around one-third of Germany’s population has received at least one dose of the Covid vaccine. Around 10 per cent of the population has received two doses as per the government figures. Indian travellers don’t need to register on any German government portal as well. The 14 countries removed from the high-risk nations include Brazil, South Africa, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe, apart from India.
