The event is being organised by Chinmaya Mission UK in collaboration with Totally Thames, a trust that promotes and celebrates the River Thames through art programmes, cultural performances, heritage projects, community events and more. The event will take place at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich, London, and everyone, regardless of their beliefs and faith, can attend. Entry is free, however, participants will need to register. According to NDTV, the main Aarti will start at 7:15 pm on the Royal Steps at sunset, but the activities will begin at 4 pm. There will be community stalls, Indian food, live music and even dance performances.
Organisers want the event to follow environmentally responsible practices. People will not be allowed to place offerings such as flowers, idols or other ceremonial items into the River Thames.
