Inside Paris’ Famous Hindu Temple

The Sivan Parvathi Temple, also known as Kanapathy Temple, is located in La Courneuve, Paris. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple was established in the late 1990s by a small group of Sri Lankan Hindus. Le Parisien reported that over the years, it has become a popular place of worship for Hindu devotees living in and around Paris.

The temple is known for its bright colours and unique design. As soon as you enter, you can see colourful statues of Lord Ganesha, Shri Krishna, and other deities at the gate. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and has statues of several other gods. It was built with the idea that people should not be placed above the deities. Hence, the temple is located upstairs, and visitors reach it through a narrow staircase.
