Good News! Kolkata-Abu Dhabi Flights Finally Resume After A Gap Of 3 Years

If you live in Kolkata and have been wanting to travel to Abu Dhabi, we have good news for you! Kolkata-Abu Dhabi flights have finally resumed operations for the first time in three years! The first flight to the capital of the United Arab Emirates took off yesterday on the 15th of March, 2023. Before this, there were no direct flights to the Arab capital. This resumption has brought great relief to travellers.

Kolkata-Abu Dhabi Flight Resumes After 3 Years

Yesterday, the first flight Kolkata-Abu Dhabi flight flew from the only international airport in Kolkata, which is the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport. The second flight is said to take off later in the month.

The flight services between the two points are offered by Air Arabia. Air Arabia is a low-cost airline that has decided to offer flight services between the two cities. It recently announced that it will offer flight services from Abu Dhabi to Kolkata three times during the week.

The schedule for the flights will be as such: The flight will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. It will take off at 2:25 PM local time and land in Kolkata at around 8:20 PM. Then, the flight will leave from Kolkata at 9:05 PM and land at the Abu Dhabi International Airport at 1:05 PM local time.

Flights Were Suspended Owing To The Pandemic

The resumption of flights between the two points comes as a great relief. Even the officials of Air Arabia have said that they are receiving a great response from the public when it comes to booking. This means that there is a chance that more number of Kolkata-Abu Dhabi flights will be added to the roster.

After the global outbreak of coronavirus, flights between Abu Dhabi and Kolkata were suspended in order to prevent the spread of the viral disease. This meant that there was no for people to travel directly between the two cities. As a result, it caused a lot of inconvenience to the passengers who wanted to travel to these destinations directly from Abu Dhabi or Kolkata.
