Have you ever been on a road trip with a large group of friends or family but it seemed frustrating to coordinate on the road since one vehicle keeps losing sight of another? It can be disruptive and unpleasant as you have to wait, call and coordinate with the other car constantly. However, this issue will soon be resolved as Google Maps will soon release a multi-car navigation feature which will help multiple cars reach the same destination.

According to an article which was recently published by News18, the new feature will allow users from different locations to meet at the same time at the same location. Group travel will subsequently become easier.

A patent was filed at the US Patent and Trademark Office which shows that the technology will enable users from different starting points to reach a common destination. It will also provide alternate routes and traffic updates based on the car that is in the lead.

Users will be able to share live locations and send notifications. They will also get the most optimal recommendations for meeting points based on where the routes converge. This means that you won’t lose your friends on the road and won’t have to keep stopping for them to catch up!

As of now, it is not known when the feature will be rolled out officially. It is safe to say, however, that many people, especially those who travel frequently, will be glad for this update.
