Ex-Google MD Lives Near Rainforest In Singapore; Feel Humans Are Real Intruders & Must Live Harmoniously With Nature

Often in life, we tend to think about our convenience and ease so much that we forget how our behaviour might be hampering nature. And former Google MD, Parminder Singh’s recent post on X (formerly Twitter) made us rethink just that! In his post, Parminder explained how he lives at the edge of a rainforest in Singapore and someone was complaining about “monkey intrusion” in the area and how something needs to be done about it. This made Parminder question – “Isn’t the real intrusion by us humans?” and how it is our responsibility to coexist with animals and not the other way around.

Parminder Singh Calls Humans The Real Intruders & Not Animals

We bet at one point or another, we have all thought about having a home in the mountains or planning to live near nature. While that is the ultimate and the best way to live, we overlook how this affects nature and the other living beings there. Giving the other side of the story, Parminder Singh shared about his living arrangement. According to his recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Parminder mentioned that he lives “at the edge of a rainforest” in Singapore.

While living there has its perks like “fresh air and great hikes,” he even talked about some difficulties he has faced. He mentioned that there are “occasional visits from monkeys, snakes & boars nearby.” But Parminder is content and happy where he lives. However, he recently heard someone complaining about “monkey intrusion” being a nuisance and how “something should be done about it.” This got him thinking, “Isn’t the real intrusion by us humans?”

Parminder Singh further went on to emphasise the importance of coexisting with nature and its beings. He said that each time he returns home, he reminds himself that he “owes so much to nature.” He said that seeing the blanket of trees on the maps reminds him of his “responsibility to coexist harmoniously with” nature.

Parminder Singh definitely makes some valid points with his tweet and leaves us with something to think about! What’s your opinion on this? Let us know in the comments!
