The Dubai Shopping Festival is in full swing and here’s what you must know before you dive into the craziness.
What Is It?
The biggest shopping fest of the year, the Dubai shopping Fest is in full swing and shopaholics can’t keep calm! The DSF kicked off with a grand 12-hour sale across all Majid Al Futtaim malls in the city. The festival started on December 26 2018 and will draw curtains on 26 January 2019. For five weeks, the city will be embellished with fireworks, pop-ups, enthralling performances, raffles and much more.
Where Does It Take Place?
The shopping fest is not restricted to the big malls in the city. The festivity is spread across flea markets and various local hideouts in the city. The biggest attraction during the season however is the Global Village. Pay up a small entry fee of AED 15 and go shopping across the globe! The Global Village has stalls set up from over 70 different countries. From apparels to food and other little knick-knacks, this grand bazaar has a little something for everyone. This aside, the malls are no short of deals and discounts. Mall of the Emirates, Dubai Mall, City centre, and the Mercato mall are a must-visit.
What to buy?
If brands are your thing, the shopping fest has deals you cannot take your eyes off. From Jack & Jones, to BOGGI, Christian Louboutin, Armani, Billionaire, Bebe, Burberry, and Prada, this is the perfect time to give your wardrobe a celebrity makeover. Jewellery, perfumes, leather bags, gadgets, and home décor are other things you will find at jaw-dropping prices.

Time it right
The malls can be over crowded over the weekends. Try and hop in during the weekdays. Morning hours are best if you want to make the most out of the deals and discounts as crowd starts to build in as the day proceeds. DSF lasts for 5 full weeks, so you have all the time.
Check tags
Very often sale periods can be misleading and if it’s something as massive as the DSF, you only need to be double careful. In case you didn’t know, all sales during this season are part sales. So, make sure you check the discounted racks and not the new arrivals.
