Gurfateh Pirzada Revealed It Took Him 4-5 Years Of Struggle To Get His First Break

‘Call Me Bae’ actor Gurfateh Pirzada was in conversation with our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, for one of our episodes of Sunday Brunch. Gurfateh Pirzada’s Move To Mumbai To Pursue Acting

Kamiya was curious to know about Gurfateh’s story before his first break in Bollywood. What was life like back then and how long did it take him to stand out among a bunch of aspiring actors? Gurfateh recalled the time when he, his mother and his sister packed their bags to shift to Mumbai from Bathinda, Punjab.

His entire family practically packed their entire lives ten years ago. Since then, they made the City of Dreams a home base to assist Gurfateh and his sister pursue their acting dreams. The actor revealed auditioning and running around different studios was a nightmare back then. 

Gurfateh remembered how he was just a guy who was trying to figure out the glitz and glam of the industry. As an outsider, it was rather difficult for him to get his first break without a few struggles here and there.

His First Break

As an aspiring actor, Gurfateh was surrounded by uncertainty in the film industry and its workings. He shared that earlier the casting directors would scan the applicants and discard most of them just by the looks. He called it a weird experience that was rather laughable back in the day. The actor didn’t want to lower his expectations and was optimistic about his budding career.

Gurfateh revealed that it took him four to five years of jumping from different auditions and casting couches to finally get a break in Bollywood. He still believes that there is a long way to go for him. Some of his notable works are ‘Friends in Law’, Netflix’s ‘Guilty’, ‘Class’, and more.
