Amid the spiralling COVID-19 cases in Delhi NCR, people are facing an acute shortage of oxygen and beds. During these trying times, many good Samaritans are coming forward to provide help with home meals, oxygen supply and more. The Gurudwaras too are always known for their selfless sewas. The Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee has now set up a Covid centre at Bhai Lakhi Shah Vanjara Hall at Gurudwara Rakab Ganj Sahib, New Delhi. The Sri Tegh Bahadur Covid Care Centre at the Gurudwara will have 250 beds. In the first phase, there will be 50 to 100 beds.

The Beds Will Have Oxygen Support

Gurudwara Rakab Ganj Sahib, New Delhi has set up a COVID care centre that will have 250 beds. All the beds here will have oxygen support. The Gurudwara will admit only those patients who have 80-90 oxygen levels. Also, a team of doctors and a large number of volunteers will be there to cater to the patients in the facility.

Gurudwara In Ghaziabad Starts ‘Oxygen Langar’ For COVID-19 Patients

To come to the aid of those in urgent need of oxygen, Ghaziabad’s Gurudwara Singh Sabha Indirapuram has started ‘oxygen langar’ services for COVID-19 patients. People in need of oxygen can receive the supply at the gurudwara in cars arranged by the gurudwara authority. Reportedly, the gurudwara has said that it will provide oxygen supply to the patients until they get a hospital bed. Read on to know more.

Gurudwara Has Shared Helpline Number For Patients

Gurudwaras have always been known for their selfless sewas. And now Gurudwara Singh Sabha Indirapuram, Ghaziabad is offering ‘oxygen langar’ amid the acute oxygen crisis in the region. Ghaziabad has been adversely affected by the coronavirus and this initiative aims to cater to the skyrocketed oxygen demand. A helpline number, 9097041313, has also been put out for the assistance of the patients. As soon as the gurudwara gets a call on the helpline number, it will send a car to the patient. When the patient reaches the gurudwara, the person will get oxygen supply until the allotment of a hospital bed. The management has said that the gurudwara is not providing door-to-door supply of oxygen cylinders to any residence.

Gurudwaras In The National Capital Region Delivering Langar Food To The Doorstep Of COVID Patients

Apart from oxygen supply, Gurudwaras in Delhi and Noida are providing hygienic langar food to quarantined COVID positive patients. ANI has shared a tweet that states, “Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Prabandhan Committee has started a separate ‘langar sewa’ for COVID-19 positive patients across the national capital. Food is being home delivered to the patients.”

A tweet by @iamrana states, “Just received a message that Gurudwara in Noida sector 18 is providing meals to covid patients, who don’t have anyone to cook for them. Volunteers of Gurdwara Sangat are delivering the food packets at the doorstep. Needy persons may contact the Gurdwara Management on 9654714986.”
