According to a report by The Economic Times, Haldiram’s first London restaurant will be an 110-seater space at Leicester Square. The international expansion is helmed by 24-year-old Rhea Agarwal, a Gen Z professional with an eagle-eyed focus on taking her family business to new heights.

What diners can expect is a mixture of traditional dishes loved by Haldiram’s patrons, with something “little extra”. The extra, Rhea, revealed to The Economic Times is a dash of modernity, which is inspired by her student days in London. It’s blend of both traditional and modern tastes. Rhea took to her own Instagram stories to announce the restaurant’s inauguration date which happens to be June 25.

Authentic Indian Dishes With Something “Extra”

While authentic Indian dishes stay untouched, Rhea teased about the UK’s first Haldiram’s restaurant bringing in something extra for diners. Apart from those already familiar with the brand, Haldiram’s is looking to reach a wider customer base with its new outlet sitting in an iconic square.

The London-based Agarwal has observed the popularity of Indian cuisine in the UK. With the Leicester Square outlet, Rhea wishes to introduce Londoners to different aspects of Indian cuisine that go beyond curries. There’s a vision to make mithai and namkeen a household name in London. The report by The Economic Times reveals that Rhea Agarwal, Haldiram’s Commercial Director, UK & EU, has a personal connection with London. Having studied in the city for 11 years, she wanted London to be a vital part of her family business’s expansion.
