Our kitchen shelves are stacked with snacks and sweets. At least one packet would surely be Haldiram’s. Whether it’s the beloved Khatta Meetha namkeen or the festive special Soan Papdi, this food brand has a special place in our hearts. And not just ours. According to Bharat Pe founder and Shark Tank’s Ashneer Grover, Haldiram’s is the biggest brand in the food business.

Ashneer Grover Calls Haldiram’s The Biggest Brand In Food Business

Ashneer Grover recently took to Twitter to share a photo with Kamal Agrawal, executive director of Haldiram’s. In his post, Grover quoted the Haldiram’s honcho. Translated in Hindi, Agrawal said that they (business family) are sweet-makers by their DNA. Whether they’re sleeping, awake or sitting, they only think about food. The Shark Tank India judge lauded the family’s clarity and passion for food. He exclaimed that it’s no wonder that Haldiram’s is the biggest brand in the food business.

Haldiram’s Has 85-Year-Old History

He further added that the profit or cash flow of Haldiram’s exceeds its valuation. And for this reason, the Bharat Pe founder deeply respects them. Interestingly, the history of Haldiram’s dates all the way back to 1937. Ganga Bishan Agarwal, fondly called Haldiram Ji, opened a retail sweets and namkeen shop in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The company later opened its first food factory in Kolkata. Since then, there has been no turning back. Currently, it has a net worth of ₹12,490 crores. Now, that’s food for thought!
